WINTER WARPATH 2016
Are the winter blues kicking in? Have you eaten too many holiday sweets? Have you been neglecting your quad skates for ice skates? Well then we have just the thing for you so grab your toques and scarves and strap on your derby gear because Winter Warpath is back!
Welcome to Warpath 2016, Bigger and better than ever featuring training by four coaches with tremendous amounts of on and off skates experience, Coaching and Captains seminars, Skater trainings, loads of games to watch and Two! That's right Two scrimmages to participate in!
When: February 6th, and 7th
Where: Coliseum Agrena, Section C
Weekend Events (times may be subject to change)
Saturday
Registration Starts at 8am
Training- 9-11:30 and 12:30-3
4pm- Round Robin games featuring The Lumbersmacks, Les Duchesses de Quebec, and special guest team!
Sunday
Training- 8:30-1:30
Scrimmage- 1:30-4
*Training is for all levels
**Must have passed WFTDA minimum skills in order to paticipate in training camp and scrimmage
***There will be one Co-Ed scrimmage and one women only scrimmage

COACH EL TANNANT
El Tannant is a name synonymous with Roller Derby both in Quebec and Canada having been a coach with Roller Derby Qc since its beginnings and been a member of the Mont Royals as far back as to have been considered a minor on the team.Since first strapping on a pair of skates at the age of 3, El Tannant played competitive hockey until the age of 18 (Midget AA) as well as a season of Roller (inline) Hockey. As a member of Men's Team Canada he represented Canada at MRDWWC 2014.
COACH JAY HOOK
Jay Hook is a Certified Personal Trainer (ACE), Level One Training for Warriors Instructor, and the owner of Forging You, an online personal training service based in Bangor, Maine. Jay also holds a Masters degree in Education from the University of New England and has 7 years experience as a teacher at the middle, high school and post-secondary levels. He is the former Head Coach of Bangor Roller Derby and current strength training advisor for Team Maine Roller Derby for the second consecutive year. Jay has a special interest in helping roller derby athletes build strength, power, speed, and explosiveness, while injury-proofing their bodies. At Winter Warpath, he will provide instruction on key strength training and derby-specific conditioning methods, as well as information on proper nutrition and recovery for the athlete, for both on and off the track to be utilized by players, coaches and training committees.
