Story to Table: Tamalada at Old Main Assoc.
We're excited to announce a new monthly series that connects the community with local chefs all while enjoying their food. The event is titled Story to Table. The format is one part communal dinner party and one part Q & A.
We approached Jeret Pena and Chef Lorenzo Morales of the new Old Main Association (2512 N. Main), a small tavern nestled in the historic Monte Vista neighborhood to see if they would be interested in hosting our first event.
Immediately they were in and suggested that we put a contemporary twist on a South Texas tradition, the tamalada.
"A tamalada ties into the fabric of what makes San Antonio the city that it is. My family has one every year and I thought it would be cool to share that with the public but with a more modern take on the tradition" said Morales, a native of San Antonio and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America-Hyde Park, NY.
On Dec 15, starting at 7:00 pm, we'll host a small crowd for an interactive three-course dinner. Tickets are just $35 each with all the proceeds going back to the restaurant.
