International Writers Series: A. Igoni Barrett and Sefi Atta
The young Nigerian author A. Igoni Barrett has been creating waves since the debut of his irrepressible collection of stories, Love Is Power, or Something Like That, in 2013. Now, with his first novel, Blackass, a riotous comic satire set in contemporary Lagos, Barrett continues to upend expectations of Nigerian, and African, writing. Lagos-born author Sefi Atta has established herself as one of the most insightful chroniclers of modern Nigeria and the Nigerian diaspora. Her books include A Bit of Difference, Swallow, News from Home, and Everything Good Will Come, which won the inaugural Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa. Curated and hosted by Anderson Tepper.
