Mil's Trills 6th Annual Winter Bash
Each year Brooklyn families look forward to shaking the winter blues away at the annual Mil's Trills Winter Bash, a veritable explosion of music, art, and community. The sixth annual Mil's Trills Winter Bash will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016at ShapeShifter Lab, 18 Whitwell Place, Brooklyn.

The 2016 Winter Bash will not only celebrate Mil's Trills' sixth birthday, it will also celebrate the release of the newest Mil's Trills album, Now That We're Friends ... Families are invited to be among the first to hear brand new songs, participate in creative arts activities, and schmooze with some of New York's finest musicians. As a special treat, there will also be a screening of Mil's Trills' first official videos!

Amelia Robinson will encourage audience members to transform into band members by participating in brand new interactive songs from Now That We're Friends ... via creative movement, scatting, and rhythmic improvisation. Amelia, her electric ukulele, and her rockin' band will take kids, parents, caregivers, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, neighbors and friends on a rhythmic expedition of music from around the world: urban funk, blues, honkey tonk, calypso, and more.

Says Amelia Robinson, "At our shows, each child is made to feel important and is recognized as an individual within the larger community. My goal is to make everyone feel they're a vital part of the bigger group. We give each child a sticker after the show that says, 'I'm in the band.' Just by attending the show, everyone is automatically part of the project!"

Since its inception in 2010, Mil's Trills has created more than 450 inter-generational live performance experiences in four countries around the world. Performance highlights include BAM, Scotland's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Pearl in Quatar, and Lincoln Center's "Meet the Artist" School Series.
