The Personal Essay: 1-Day Intensive ($125)
How do you take just one short episode from your life and still have it make sense to readers who don't know anything about you? How do you keep the emotional resonance of the story while still keeping it short and powerful? This class focuses on the personal essay -- short episodes and observations from your life that would make a great magazine article. Each participant will come to the class with a draft of a story from their life, and revise that story into an essay ready for publication during the course of the day.
