2012 Boogie Down Dance: MAVERICK DANCE EXPERIENCE
Toni Renee Johnson's Maverick Dance Experience is a Bronx-based dance company, rooted in visceral and binding storytelling through social commentary, blood memories and shared personal experiences. For their first full evening at BAAD! they'll present four urgent repertory pieces: Reference Point an intricate quartet; Group Contempo a high octane ensemble work; If You Knew Me...You Would Know... an avant garde social commentary on voyeurism; and Discovery Zone: the evolution about emptying out to create something new.
