Safe Zone Training by Time Out Youth

Did you know that LGBT youth are about twice as likely as they peers to be verbally harassed or physically assaulted at school? Join us for an informative Safe Zone training for staff. The purpose of a Safe Zone Training is to create affirming and supportive climates through identifying and educating members of our community who are open to and supportive of all individuals regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. During this time, we will also hear from Time Out Youth Center's Speakers Bureau which will be led by LGBTQ youth. Trained LGBTQ youth tell their personal stories of coming out and community/family acceptance, then answer questions from staff.
