Conversations with an Executioner
Kazimierz Moczarski fought in the underground during the Nazi occupation of Warsaw, but after the war was jailed by the new Stalinist regime. As part of a planned regimen of torture, he was placed in the same cell as a man he had once attempted to assassinatethe Nazi war criminal Jürgen Stroop, who commanded the brutal quelling of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. His was one of the first attempts to study the mind of a Nazi war criminal. This gritty play commemorates the 69th anniversary of the armed resistance in the Warsaw Ghetto.
