Triskelion Arts Presents... Anne Zuerner and Kathy Wasik
Inspired by a cemetery on the Brooklyn/Queens border, Anne Zuerner's Round and Round brings together abstract, spiritual and scientific ideas surrounding life and death. Drawing connections between formal explorations of circles, physical symbols of history, lessons learned from the way the natural world deals with death the piece aims to call attention to the beauty that can be found where we least expect it. This work is an excerpt from a larger project expected to premiere in Spring 2016.
Kathy Wasik's latest dance focuses on transitions. It attempts to turn what would normally be the connective tissue of a work into the meat and bones of the piece. The work challenges performer and viewer alike to ask how we distinguish between a landmark and a transition, and what happens when we invert our value systems.
