Over The River And Through The Woods
Nick is a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida. Both sets of grandparents, of course, still live in Jersey, where he dutifully comes every Sunday for a sumptuous and noisy meal. Then one day Nick tells his grandparents he's been offered a dream job in Seattle that will take him away... far away. His disheartened grandparents despair of the family breaking up and thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around. This leads the grandparents to bring in the lovely - and single - Caitlin O'Hare as bait. The play is an Italian-American Neil Simon-ish family comedy. It's very funny, but it also touches the right sentimental chord of family ties and inevitable change.
