The rally precedes Mayor Bowser and her team's second meeting with the Ivy City community in preparation for releasing and RFP (request for proposals) for the Crummell School site.
Almost 100 people came to the first meeting -- mostly residents and alumni to tell the mayor that they want a publicly-funded community center on the site with recreation, job training, and other community services.
We need to underscore how much this means by keeping up the pressure and showing her that not only are Ivy City folks interested, but people across the city are watching what happens in Ivy City.
Please join us for this short rally and walk with us to Trinity Baptist Church (1814 Central Place, NE) where the Mayor is holding her meeting from 12:30 - 2:00.
