Opening Night Premiere Event
Join us for this special fundraising event to support the educational programs of the Phoenix Film Foundation. The annual tradition of the Opening Night Premiere Event continues this year with a special cocktail party followed by the Arizona Premiere of Robot and Frank.
5:00pm Opening Night Cocktail Party
The evening kicks off with the Opening Night Cocktail Party in the Phoenix Film Festival Party Pavilion. Don't miss this special event with food from Melting Pot, Coopers'Town and others. There will be hors d'oeuvres, a hosted bar, music from award-winning artist Micah Beverly and a silent auction benefiting our educational programs. Then we'll head over to the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Cine Capri Theatre for the opening remarks, presentation of our Visionary Award and the Opening Night Film.

Robot & Frank features an award winning cast including Academy Award nominee Frank Langella, James Marsden, Liv Tyler and Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon.
Synopsis:
Set in the near future, a curmudgeon Frank (a retired cat burglar) has two grown kids who are concerned he can no longer live alone. They are tempted to place him in a nursing home until Frank's son chooses a different option: against the old man's wishes, he buys him a walking, talking humanoid robot programmed to improve Frank's physical and mental health. What follows is an often hilarious and somewhat heartbreaking story about finding friends and family in the most unexpected places.
