VOICES RISING February 10 2012
Acclaimed actor/playwright/producer Berend McKenzie brings excerpts of his award winning one man show Nggrfg (aka Would You Say the Name of this Play?) to Voices Rising! Nggrfg recently played a sold out run at Canada's premiere theater for young people in Toronto and is destined for the famed Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland.
Berend McKenzie will be performing "Tassels" a 20-25 minute excerpt from his one-man hit show nggrfg (aka Would you say the name of this play?). There will be a Q & A session following the performance.

Hosted by the fabulous artist/writer/performer/activist Stephany Koch-Hazelrigg. stephany has been heART at work on her upcoming chapbook and audio release CONTENT MATTER: subject to change, set for inception, Saturday, April 7th at Ladies First in the columbia city at LEMS Bookstore. after several years as a story telling doula and midwife of words for groups of all ages, sizes, plots, and storylines, she is grateful for the time, space, and inspiration for her own poet rebirthing. stay tuned, more words forthcoming.
Storme Webber will be sharing new work from her experimental memoir, Noirish Lesbiana (working title)- which considers growing up in pre Stonewall queer community, time travel and redemption. Storme is an internationally known writer/performer, whose credits include film (Venus Boyz), theater (Buddy Rabbit) and numerous performance/production credits. She's particularly noted for her innovative and soulful performance which combines spoken word and acapella vocals, and she is the founder/artistic director of Voices Rising.
