New Yorker cartoonist Bruce Eric Kaplan, also known
as BEK, is one of the most celebrated cartoonists in
America. A screenwriter and producer, Kaplan has worked
on Seinfeld, Six Feet Under, and currently is a writer and
executive producer for HBO's Girls. This book, the story of
his childhood, details the small moments of growing up,
and are accompanied by cartoons, which although simple,
are filled with irony and dark humor. "Kaplan manages to
capture all that is beautiful, hilarious and painful about
