Poetry in Harmony
"Poetry in Harmony," a night of explosive poetry and work that pushes the boundaries. National Book Award poetry finalist Kim Addonizio, who promises a night of edgy poetry, citing works like her red dress poem, "What do Women Want" and Michael Cirelli, a National Poetry Slam finalist who performed on HBO's Def Poetry Jam, whose latest work "navigates the complexities of race and privilege," (Hanging Loose Press) will read from their work to conclude the day-long Blackbird Poetry Festival at Howard Community College. Join HoCoPoLitSo, Howard Community College and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc for an evening coffee house with readings, an act by the duo - performance poet Gayle Danley and singer Sahffi, as Mother Ruckus ends the day-long festival with an uplifting entertainment of slam and song.
