Introduction to Theatre
Kids in 1st-5th grade will have the opportunity to learn all about theatre with games and activities that teach the various elements of acting and theatre.
Fall 2015 Semester schedule:
5:00-6:15 pm
Mondays, October 19-December 7: 1st-3rd grade
Tuesday, October 20-December 8: 3rd-5th grade
December 14/15: Showcase performance for parents and friends!
Learning topics include: movement, voice, stage presence, stage direction, using imagination, storytelling, basic stagecraft, characterization, script analysis, etc.
Instructor: Jerry Jascoviak
Jerry holds a BA in Theatre from Valparaiso University and has taught theatre to children in both Griffith and Michigan City. He also performs and directs at a variety of local theatres. His teaching philosophy is one of nurturing children interested in theatrical arts. He finds it both personally rewarding and soul-energizing for all involved.
