As the project's director, Don has conducted hundreds of workshops in all 50 states as well as Canada, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, Iceland, Turkey, England, New Zealand, and Japan. Don was a founder of the SEFAM (Supporting Extended Family Members) program at the University of WA, which pioneered services for fathers, siblings, and grandparents of children with special needs. SibKids, SibTeen, and SibNet--the Yahoo and Facebook groups Don created for young, teen, and adult siblings--connect thousands of brothers and sisters with their peers every day. Don is the senior author or editor of 6 books and many articles. His books will be available for purchase at the Luncheon. Like all of our luncheon speakers, he has personally lived with the challenges about which he speaks. He brings a personal perspective from which every parent, relative, professional, friend, and concerned community member can learn, and be inspired.
