Introduction to Sewing Workshop
2 week Introduction to Sewing: Tuesday 13th & 20th January 6.30pm - 9pm
This practical sewing course will help you become familiar with the basics of machine sewing and help you build your confidence using a domestic sewing machine before moving on to a simple sewing project after which you can graduate onto another intermediate course offered by Edinburgh Sewcial Club.
Week one:
Threading Sewing Machine and winding & inserting bobbin in machine.
Basic driving skills
Learning about fabric qualities and various machine stitches and machine tension.
Week two:
Summary of previous week
Small project - making simple cushion, apron or bag.
You are welcome to bring along your own sewing machine so that you can practice on this or if you don't have one there are plenty in the studio.
Fabrics are provided for week two, so all you need to do is come along, meet great like minded people and start learning a new skill!
