May 20 - Jack Walker & Friends Variety Show
As part of the continuing RMI Concert Series, "Jack Walker & Friends" variety show will appear Aliante Station Casino & Hotel on May 27. Walker's "friends" in May's concert series include the celebrated musical director, conductor and arranger Bill Fayne and dynamic performer, concert pianist and vocalist Clair Maidin (appearing May 27 only at Aliante Station). Jack Walker is a high energy, variety vocal entertainer. Born and raised in Scotland, Walker has appeared on BBC and Scottish television. After arriving in the U.S., he made his home in Las Vegas and became the principal male vocalist in two long-running Las Vegas production shows, "Jubilee!" at Bally's and "Les Follies Bergeres" at the Tropicana. He has thrilled audiences worldwide with performances for major corporations and on prestigious cruise lines. (http://www.jackwalker.com)
Bill Fayne has been musical director of more than 50 musical theater productions, operas and television shows over the past 40 years, and has appeared as guest conductor with the Las Vegas, Atlanta, Buffalo, San Diego, Columbus, Dessert (Palm Springs) and Delaware Symphony Orchestras. As an arranger, he has worked with Clint Holmes, Susanne Sommers, Gloria Loring, Ann Jillian, Hal Linden, Mickey Rooney and Kathie Lee Gifford. Fayne's television credits include various Bob Hope specials, Dick Clark Productions, "The Tonight Show," "The Joan Rivers Show" and many others.
Claire Maidin's outstanding pianistic ability and skill at combining classical and popular themes are reminiscent of the popular Liberace style. She was onscreen pianist for "Hairspray, The School Musical" and "Grease, The School Musical" for Sky One. She sang backing vocals for John Barrowman, Take That, Justin Lee Collins, Jason Donovan and 1980s pop star Nik Kershaw on ITV's "Now That's What I Call 1983." Claire is also onscreen vocal coach and pianist on Britain's Got Talent "Learn How To Sing" DVD, which is now on sale throughout the U.K. In 2011, Maidin was vocal coach and live studio backing vocalist for the hit ITV Saturday night prime time television show "Sing If You Can" hosted by Keith Lemon.
All shows begin at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. The cover charge (cash and credit) for each show is $15 (tax inclusive) at the door.
