SkyDancers: Women Who Fly Through the Air (Program Two)
Dance Brigade presents SkyDancers: Women Who Fly Through The Air! Taking place every other year, SkyDancers celebrates its fifth season as a festival for the Bay Areas finest women aerial performers. Since its award-winning premiere in 1997, SkyDancers has played to sold-out audiences and this year runs over two weekends. Over 12 artists and groups drawn from the modern dance, aerial and circus school communities, work with equipment that includes trapezes, hoops, bungees, ropes of all kinds, and other apparatus. Often isolated due to rehearsal space constraints and equipment needs, these diverse artists are brought together by this festival to see each others work while providing a unique and exciting format for the audience.
