Golden Anniversary Lecture: Growing Up in Rockland, with Brian Jennings
The Historical Society of Rockland County Invites You to Join Us for "Growing Up in Rockland"

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22 - 7:15 pm SHARP

A Golden Anniversary Lecture by Brian Jennings on "Share, Listen and Learn," an oral history project that collects and preserves the stories of Rockland County's senior citizens. Brian Jennings, the history librarian at the New City Library, will share segments of these interviews as part of a collaborative effort with local historical and governmental agencies to highlight important aspects of life in Rockland County over the past 5075 years.

Please join us at the HSRC's History Center, 20 Zukor Road, New City, NY, for this special evening lecture.

Admission is free, but space is limited, and reservations are required.

About the speaker:  Brian Jennings is currently the History Librarian at the New City Library.  He was previously the History Librarian at the Nyack Library.  In these roles, Brian has taken the lead in preserving and distributing Rockland County's many rich sources of local history using digital technologies. Through the digitization of historical photographs and newspapers he has increased the availability of these resources significantly.  Additionally, he has worked diligently to record and preserve oral histories of local residents.  These digital archives are a valuable resource to our entire community.

As a courtesy to the speaker, please arrive early to avoid interruptions. The lecture will begin promptly at 7:15. Latecomers with reservations may forfeit their seats. Walk-ins will be admitted only if space permits.
