The Road Show with special guest Felt
St. Louis's own long-form improvisational theater and training center The Improv Shop introduces an innovative new comedy show to its current lineup entitled "The Road Show." With the goal of expanding the St Louis comedy scene beyond city borders, The Road Show will bring unique comedy acts from all over the country. The Road Show will take place on the first Saturday of every month with its inaugural show kicking off on February 4th. Along with two opening acts, this event will feature the improvisational comedy smash hit "Felt" from Chicago whose cast is entirely comprised of puppets.

Felt has been described as an improvised Avenue Q due to the (literally) plush nature of its cast. The show has been on an open run at Chicago's famous iO Theater for the past six years, gathering critical praise along the way. Both the Chicago Reader and Metromix have awarded the show a Critic's Choice; Nina Metz of the Chicago Tribune wrote, "Felt provesfew things are funnier than puppets behaving badly." Some notable alumni of Felt include Saturday Night Live's Vanessa Bayer and Lauren Lapkus from NBC's Are You There, Chelsea?

The show itself uses a single suggestion from the audience to inspire a full 45-minute set of unscripted puppet comedy. With this being Felt's first St. Louis performance, the show's producer and cast member Cesar Jaime described the excitement of putting up this show in a new city: "We love to get out on the road whenever possible because there is no greater feeling than having a brand new audience appreciate your work."

Opening the night will be Chicago's, Everybody Grok, comprised of Amelia Crabtree, Brendon Culhane, Tim Hunt, and Ian Martin.  With a roster chock full of the city's leading improv instructors, the house team of The Improv Shop, Ted Dangerous, also opens.
