Workshops at the 2015 Michigan Burlesque Festival
Character Development with Lushes LaMoan (1pm)
This workshop helps you to build a stronger stage presence and character by showing you different ways to draw out your emotions, through improv games and various techniques.
Classic Jazz Dance with Russell Bruner (2:30pm)
This class will focus on dance movement that goes with Rag, Jazz and Swing Music. This will be fun for anyone interested in dance styles like Charleston, Black Bottom, Legomania, Cake Walk and Eccentric Dance. We will explore the dancing from it's origin and look at ways to personalize and improvise with the style today. No experience required. All levels are welcome to attend. It is recommended that you wear comfy dance shoes with suede or leather soles during the class.
Fabulous is a State of Mind with Foxy Tann (4pm)
Fabulous is a state of mind is a workshop that uses different methods to help women get in touch with their confidence and positive self image through different burlesque choreography and movement. Burlesque is a community for people of all sizes and shapes to be able to express their confidence and personality, and this class will show you how to open up and let that inner diva out.
Foxy will demonstrate this by showing some basic movements that will make you feel sexy and confident, such as the slow glove peel, and different ways burlesque performers use those same movements and apply them to their own personalities.
