Next Generation Jazz Orchestra

Kick off your Monterey Jazz Festival weekend with a preview of the best high school musicians in the country. The Next Generation Jazz Orchestra brings together twenty-one of the most talented young jazz musicians from around the United States under the direction of Paul Contos. They perform at select Monterey Bay sites including Kuumbwa Jazz before their grand finale at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Woodwinds: Eric Nakanishi alto; Immanuel Wilkins alto; Tim Murphy tenor; Morgan Guerin tenor; Kaelen Ghandhi baritone; Trombones: Andrew Munoz, Abdulrahman Amer, Nicholas Lee, Jasim Perales, Ethan Noel Santos. Trumpets: Jonah Moss, Carlos Ramos, Anthony Hervey, Evan Abounassar, Jeremy Alvarez. Rhythm: Chris Fishman piano; Kanoa Mendenhall bass; Joseph Bell guitar; Timothy Angulo drums; Jared Silverstein drums; and Claire Dicksen vocals.
