Maurizio CD Release Party

Maurizio will be celebrating the release of his first full production studio album entitled 'Before The Crowd' at The Hangar (675 River Street) in Troy, NY (across from The Ale House).

A native and lifelong resident of Troy, New York, Maurizio has always been enchanted with music. He'd bounce up and down on his older brother Dominic's bed at the age of 2, listening to Beatles, Rolling Stones and Beach Boys records. He'd sit on the floor with his record-player and furiously scribble down the lyrics of his favorite songs, wanting in every way to touch and hold that magic. The tragic loss of his sister Grace who was 25 and serving in the Peace Corps in Africa when he was 8, and the passing of his father a few years later, shaped his outlook and his plans in significant ways. It highlighted the vital importance of family loyalty and he's honored that by staying close to home. In college he began playing local clubs, festivals, and cafes. For two decades he's been a familiar presence in the Capital District music community, and in 2012 teamed up with producer James Gascoyne to begin crafting his studio album debut "Before the Crowd" and bring it to an eagerly waiting fan base.

The title and cover for the album was inspired by an ink drawing that this sweet woman who goes by Willow, drew of him while performing at a Cafe (Coffee Planet) in Ballston Spa, NY.

Doors open at 7 PM show starts at 8 PM.

With very special guests -

8 PM The exceptionally talented/multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Eric Margan.

9 PM The Rodeo Barons. An amazing band that creates huge sonic landscapes - pushing melodic boundaries while staying rooted in traditional American styles.

10 PM Maurizio takes the stage with members of the Rodeo Baron's (Chris Carey, Sam Zucchini and James Gascoyne) performing the new album in its entirety.
