Making Maps and Carrying Fire
Intermedia Arts invites you to a cross sector gathering of leaders in the arts, community organizing, education, native sovereignty, public systems, policy, health care, youth development, community and economic development, housing and more who are dedicated to the power of the arts to build community, create place and mobilize action in the Twin Cities. The environment around us is changing and the time is ripe to determine who we are as a field and what our work is in this moment in time. We know that amazing work is going on out there- let's come together and maximize our influence, visibility and impact for the creative future of our communities.
Intermedia Arts has been a pioneer in creative placemaking and arts based community development for almost two decades. Graduating 110 fellows over 10 years from our nationally-recognized Leadership Institute, Intermedia Arts has helped to lead the development of the field in our region. Our commitment to the cross sector nature of this work and support for creative community leadership has fostered our partnership with the Bush Foundation to offer the leadership institute in the Twin Cities and now in the Fargo-Moorhead region for the first time in the spring of 2012. More recently, Intermedia Arts opened ArtsHub, a co-working space that is designed to spark collaborations and support creative people who are tackling the social, environmental, economic and cultural challenges we face today.
This Convening will provide the opportunities, spaces and tools for you to dialogue, present and mobilize around ideas and issues that are most important to you and your community. We use Open Space Technology, a convening format that allows you to really dig into your passions and pursuits in ways that work for you.
Fee: $30 (Breakfast and lunch will be included with the fee)
