The CONSTRUCTION COMPANY : SALLY GROSS/ KENNETH KING/SALLY SILVERS A Trail of Irreverence
The Performance Project Presents The CONSTRUCTION COMPANY : SALLY GROSS/ KENNETH KING/SALLY SILVERS
Sally Gross, a choreographer of conceptual works that are both moving and visually striking, continues to break down the border between visual art and dance in A Sonnet in Movement featuring dancers Jamie Di Mare, Heather Lee, and Tanja Meding
With the aura of both magician and whirling dervish, dancer/philosopher Kenneth King began by dancing to the sound of his own wor(l)d-altering texts. Now a writer, he returns to dance with his new solo, Secret Border, and Frances' Unfinished Dance, dedicated to the late Frances Alenikoff.
Sally Silvers, who was both a student of Kenneth King and a collaborator with Sally Gross, began and continues to break the rules and to expand the vocabulary of dance. Her innovative approach to inventing witty movement phrases will be seen in a new solo for Carolyn Lord and a short trio.
