Jersey City Nutcracker 2011
Nimbus Dance Works presents Jersey City Nutcracker! Jersey City Nutcracker tells the story of two children's urban Christmas adventure leading them through fantasy, adversity and celebration and teaching them lessons about friendship and community along the way. This adaption of Tchaikovsky's holiday classic is performed by professional dancers from Nimbus Dance Works joined by youth and adults from the community as they portray familiar characters such as the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Rat King, the Arabian Princess and Drosselmeyer  all with a Jersey City twist! Join us amidst colorful sets, spirited costumes, a brightly-adorned tree and be touched by this tale of Christmas spirit.

Join Us on Friday, December 16th for the "Nutcracker Family Party" immediately following the performance. Evening includes food, drinks, music and activities for the whole family including photos with the cast. Support the performing arts in Jersey City!

Special Benefit Performance for Grace Church Van Vorst , Sunday, December 18th, 7:30pm. In recognition and thanks for Grace Church's generosity to Nimbus over the past 5 years, proceeds from this performance will benefit the church.

Youth performers appear courtesy of Jersey City Dance Academy, Next Step Broadway, and Fred W. Martin Center for the Arts/Middle School #41, Jersey City Public Schools.

Nimbus Dance Works' performances and programs are made possible through the support of generous individual donors, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the American Music Center, Jersey City Division of Community Development and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, administered by the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Thomas A. DeGise, County Executive, and the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
