Prepare for your local pride to SWELLL when Ambassador of Americana, Charles Phoenix, sweeps us away on a retro madcap slide show adventure in search of ... and paying tribute to ... Downey's classic and kitschy landmarks, legends and lore galore!
With his gracious sense of humor, unbridled enthusiasm, and keen expertise,
Charles tells the stories and glories of the worlds oldest McDonalds, world's first Taco Bell, Bobs Big Boy Broiler, Chris 'n Pitts, secret "ghost town" remains of the "LA Co Poor Farm", the Carpenters and their Only Just Begin and Close to You Apts, plus mom and pop businesses, mid-century architecture, oddities, local food and Downey's EPIC role in the race for space and so much more!

ABOUT CHARLES PHOENIX
Ambassador of Americana, Charles Phoenix is a showman, tour guide, food crafter and author. His spirited retro slide show performances, "field trip" tours, "test kitchen" creations and colorful coffee table books celebrate classic and kitschy America's life and style.
Charles was educated at SoCal's theme parks, thrift shops, shopping malls and his dad's used car lots while growing up in Ontario, California.
Look for him on TV this Holiday season as a judge Food Network's Christmas Cake Wars. He has also appeared on Storage Wars, Martha Stewart, Queen Latifah, Conan O'Brian, and is often heard on National Public Radio.
Fans enjoy his colorful spin and genuine reverence for Americana and trust his guide to attractions from coast to coast.
