Dead Man Walking
The play explores Sister Helen Prejean's involvement with a prisoner on death row and the issue of the death penalty. The play is written by Tim Robbins based on the movie he wrote and directed, that in turn is based on the book of the same title by Sister Helen Prejean, a nun involved with prison work. Analy's director, Starr Hergenrather, says that such a serious drama is a great challenge for high school theatre students. "The subject of the death penalty is the cutting edge right now and it is exciting for the students to be participating in this social and political debate."

Thursday, November 17th, will be a benefit performance for "Get On The Bus" a non-profit organization that provides transportation for children to visit their parents in prison.

Sunday, November 20th, there will be a panel discussion after the 2:00pm show with representatives of both sides of the issue of the death penalty.

This play is recommended for mature students 15 years and up who are able to handle mature subjects, the occasional use of profanity and negative racial slurs.

All seating is general seating.
