Oklahoma! The Musical
Oklahoma! is the nostalgic, classic musical about a strong-willed country girl and her flirtation with a couple of local young men. Laurey creates a lot of drama (and music) as she handles the competing affections of two very different men, both intent on winning her permission to take her to the town's Box Social. The whole town gets drawn into the drama between Laurey and her two suiters. Curly, the cowboy, seems destined to lose her to Jud, the wild and daring farmhand. Rousing familiar tunes like "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning", and "I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say No" are only a part of the crazy drama that will have you singing in your seat. Oklahoma!, written by Rodgers and Hammerstein, is based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play "Green Grow the Lilacs".
