Global Classroom: Why Are We Still There? The Future of Afghanistan
What do your students know about Afghanistan prior to 9/11? How has history and geopolitics shaped the present situation in Afghanistan? What is the history of the U.S. relationship with Afghanistan and this region of the world? Teachers will have a chance to ask these and other questions during an intimate teacher-only dialogue with Ambassador Peter Tomsen, author of "The Wars of Afghanistan: Messianic Terrorism, Tribal Conflicts, and The Failures of Great Powers," for an in-depth discussion on Afghanistan today and what can be done, considering history, to find a productive path forward for the region.
