More Than Good Intentions: How a New Economics is Helping to Solve Global Povert
The World Affairs Council and the Yale Alumni Association of Western Washington present Dr. Dean Karlan, President & Founder of Innovations for Poverty Action, Assistant Professor of Economics at Yale University, and Author of More Than Good Intentions: How a New Economics Is Helping to Solve Global Poverty, who will address a new approach to evaluating effectiveness of different poverty-alleviation programs around the globe. Whether analyzing microfinance programs in India or small-business development programs in Ghana, Dr. Karlan will discuss why behavioral economics and making small changes in banking practices, health care, and other programs can help improve the lives of the poor.
