Blender for 3D Printing
This class, taught over four Saturdays, will teach you how to use Blender, a professional-level, open-source 3D modeling and animation suite to design, render and print your own 3D creations on a 3D printer. Each 2 hour class will consist of an hour of instruction and an hour of coaching. The class will be taught by the talented Kenyon Bertelsen. On the final class day, Making Awesome's 3D printer guru, Brad Harris, will be there to help students print their models and to answer questions about the 3D printers.
The class runs from 1PM until 3PM starting on August 15th, and continuing on August 22nd, August 29th, and September 5th.
Participants will need to bring a laptop capable of installing Blender, and with sufficient space. For Windows users, Blender requires Windows, 7, 8 or Vista. For Macintosh users, Blender requires MacOS 10.6 or above. If you're using a Linux laptop, most recent versions will work, however, you will need to install glibc 2.11. For more information on system requirements for running Blender, visit http://www.blender.org/download/.
The class is open to makers age 12 and up. Kids under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Space in this class is limited and available on a first come basis.
