Staying Safe: Reducing the Risk of Victimization in Personal/Professional Life
Your safety is a priority, but can be overlooked when helping others. Staying Safe: Reducing the Risk of Victimization in Personal and Professional Life provides information necessary to identify and plan for situations that can escalate and become physically dangerous. Mark Solomon teaches participants ways to prevent victimization that can be implemented immediately.
When working in changing environments with people you don't know, while working alone or with those in crisis, it becomes necessary to understand and recognize potential risks and threats to keep yourself safe.
While strongly relevant to service providers, this training benefits anyone on a personal level and from all professions.
Refreshments are included and a break for lunch on your own.
Mr. Solomon's expertise in safety training has spanned nearly 30 years. He works with the Seattle Police Department providing personal and workplace safety for the last 21 years and focused on threat assessment, counter-terrorism and force protection during his 28 years of service in the United States Air Force. Mr. Solomon has developed workshops for DSHS conferences that reach diverse audiences, each with unique safety considerations.
Mr. Solomon is a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practitioner and founder of Obsidian Security Group. His many licensures have included private investigations and advanced training in Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB), Conflict Management and Conflict De-escalation. Currently, Mr. Solomon serves as the chairman on the board of directors for the Washington Coalition of Crime Victim Advocates.
