TEDxFruitvale: Harvesting Change Viewing Party
Join us to watch TedxFruitvale: Harvesting Change. This TEDx focuses on agricultural labor practices, rights, and policies. More on the TEDx:
On Friday, October 14, 2011, Mills College, Oakland, CA, TEDxFruitvale will bring together farmworkers, farmers, activists, students, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, academia, and policymakers to celebrate the people upon whom we depend to harvest our food. In three sessions, titled Meet, Movement, and Money, we'll provide a 360-degree view of farmworkers today and throughout history; discuss grassroots and policy efforts to give farmworkers rights equal to other workers, and put them in the context of other labor movements; and end by showcasing farms and companies that have successfully integrated fair labor practices into their businesses.
