The growth of the Internet has made distribution of content to the end-user easier, but that still does not change the fact that the content creator needs funds to create.Crowdfunding's increasing amount of success stories over the past two years proves that the modern spin on traditional fundraising is a viable option.Filmmakers Kholi Hicks and Teresa Decher, who have had a successful Kickstarter campaign, will join the Burbank Film Festival this year to speak on the "do's" and "don'ts" of crowdfunding.

Teresa Decher is an actress and producer currently living in Los Angeles. In addition to acting in independent projects (The Waiting List, In The Gray) and appearing in international Nike campaigns, she has created and produced a number of short films. Originally from Georgia, Kholi Hicks made the cross-country trek to Los Angeles in summer of 2005. Starting out as a cinematographer, he was able to absorb a wealth of knowledge that's made him a source of technical information for many.
