ShawnMikael(s) in CoHi: Our Third Anniversary Show!
Were we to do a bit of time-traveling back to July, 2012, we'd find ourselves in the midst of pretty heady comedic milieu: Key and Peele's show was renewed for a second season; our beloved "Matlock," Andy Griffith, died on the internet for the first time; and the video for Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" becomes the most brilliant piece of satire ever devised by man.
Plus, two middle-aged dudes start an improv show in Columbia Heights that has since sold out nearly every month for three years straight, despite nearly everyone's complete inability to find the place.
Join us as we celebrate our third anniversary at Studio 1469. Our lineup includes the new-to-the-scene The Female Accent, the old-to-the-scene Aboulia! and ShawnMikael(s), who are, like, total Piltdown men when its comes to being on the scene.
The Female Accent is:
Christine Burgess John Carroll Adam Fishbein Thomas Harris Alex Kazanas David Lapkoff James MacIndoe Ross Townsend
Aboulia! is
Scott Holden Brianna Lux Mike Macrina Justin Schram Joanna Tiger Austen Villamez Katie Honerkamp Lazo Katie McDermott
ShawnMikael(s) is:
Shawn Westfall Mikael Johnson
Our Host: DAVID LETTERMAN! (not really. But, fuck, wouldn't that be cool?)
Remember: you can't see any of it unless you buy a ticket. And you know how that works: we only can sell a total of 5 (FIVE!) at the door. So get yours early and often...
Remember: Studio 1469 is BYOB!: Keep in mind that the space doesn't sell alcohol. However, you are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages to the show (provided, of course, you are of legal drinking age and aren't a gargantuan douche).
The Space: Studio 1469 (http://studio1469.com/), located in the rear of 1469 Harvard Street, is not your normal performance space: one part artist's hideaway, one part "white-box" theater, it's a hidden gem in bustling Columbia Heights. Please note that access isn't available on Harvard Street, but by entering via the alley off 15th Street between Harvard Street and Columbia Road. Once in the alley, walk straight to the end, where you'll find the space. More information. Directions, and a map are available here:
http://studio1469.com/directions
Doors open at 8 pm. Show is at 8:30 pm.
Did you know that the three-year anniversary is the Psilocybin Anniversary? It's true, we checked. So show up. And bring 'shrooms.
