Hell in a Handbag Productions starts their season with the sheer stabbing shock of The Birds written by David Cerda and Pauline Pang and directed by Scott Bradley. The Birds is part parody and dark deconstruction of the famous film is written by David Cerda and Pauline Pang based on the classic thriller of the same name directed by Alfred Hitchcock, with further inspiration from the British Film Institute essay on The Birds penned by none other then controversial popular culture observer, Camille Paglia. The Birds is simultaneously ridiculous and disturbing and the venue, located on the edge of Lake Michigan adds an extra environmental dimension to this unique theatrical experience.
