The LIttle Mermaid
Be moved by the original enchanting Hans Christian Andersen story, first published in Denmark in 1837, about a little mermaid who is willing to give up her life in the sea to walk among humans. When she saves a prince from near-drowning in a great storm, her love for him and her longing to live above the surface of the ocean to be with him force her to make a difficult choice. Recommended for grades K-5.
