Act M: At The Palace Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow Only
Act M: At The Palace Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow Only Previously under the working title "Project M"
Stupendous! Mystical! Chilling! Hilarious! A Vaudevillian Macbeth!
Written by Actors Basement's own Merlyn Q. Sell Directed by Adam Palafox
October 28-29 and November 4-5, at The Glaser Center. Doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm.
An adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, Act M: At The Palace Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow Only puts a vaudeville spin on everything we know of the classic tragedy. Beware of ghosts, patent medicine, kilts, and a singing duck. Just like the great vaudeville shows of days past, Act M: At The Palace Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow Only has a little bit of everything: a comedy team with deadly ambition, a Shakespearean actor with a drinking problem and a psychic with an "aboriginal spirit guide." How does all this add up to Macbeth? You'd have to see it to believe it!
Mike Sweeney and Beth Hart are determined to break into vaudeville's "big time" and play The Palace. Standing in their way is Duncan Swank, a pompous tragedian who refuses to sell out for success. Conspiring against them is Izz Swank, a bright eyed girl with big feelings for Mike. Goading them along is brash con artist Leah Fox who tells the truth behind a screen of smoke and mirrors. But when they get where they're going, will Mike and Beth's past come back to haunt them?
