BURGUNDY BRIXX: GO-GO MANIA! The essentials of authentic Retro Go-Go dance
Learn the essentials of authentic 1960's Go-Go Dance! This fun high-energy workshop will familiarize you with the essential moves of this joyous high-energy and carefree era of popular dance in a playful and supportive environment. The class finishes with a wild and liberating swinging sixties go-go dance mega-mix! (Bonus - a cardio workout that's actually FUN!) Please wear comfortable and supportive dance or fitness-wear and bring a water bottle! Dance sneakers, dance boots or soft dance shoes are also recommended. Flat sneakers or Keds are acceptable.
About the Instructor:
Before taking part in the world of Burlesque, Burgundy worked as a professional principal singer and dancer in New York City for Radio City Productions, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Trump Casinos, and more. Also a part of the contemporary dance and cabaret community of Vancouver, Burgundy is an Artistic Associate with Small Stage Canada and just performed at the National Theatre of Canada in Ottawa. Listed as one of the top 10 burlesque performers of Canada two years running, Burgundy was also awarded "Best Soloist" at the Boston Burlesque Expo of 2012. She was selected to compete for the title of "Reigning Queen Of Burlesque" in 2012, 2013 and 2014 by The Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. A feature instructor for Burlycon, Burgundy has also headlined the Toronto Burlesque Fest, "Girlesque" & the Edmonton Burlesque Fest.
