Global Rhythms: Celebrating the First 10 Years!
2011 marks 10 years of presenting performance traditions from across the globe-and the retirement of the series' founder and curator, Spider Kedelsky-and Town Hall is proud to present one globe-spanning concert featuring three of Kedelsky's favorite performers: the otherworldly throat-singing quartet Chirgilchin; the highly acclaimed vocal and string-percussion group Correo Aereo, with traditional and original music of Venezuela, Mexico, Argentina, and beyond; and world-renowned vocalist and ney (reed flute) player Hossein Omuomi. The celebration continues after the concert with a Downstairs at Town Hall dance party, more music, a no-host bar, and roasting and toasting. Presented by Town Hall. Series media sponsorship provided by KBCS 91.3 FM and KEXP.
