Slagel Family Farm Tour & Dinner with C-House & One Sixty Blue

Come join us on the Farm for a Farm Tour and Dinner October 8th 2011. This is a great outing for you and your family! Want to see where your food comes from? Here is a great opportunity for that. The afternoon will begin with an optional cutting demonstration on a lamb carcass at Slagel Family Meats Locker performed by LouisJohn Slagel. LouisJohn will be demonstrating how to butcher a lamb carcass into retail cuts. He will show you where your different cuts of meat come from. If you would rather not participate in this event you are welcome to stay back on the farm.

Following the Cutting Demonstration LouisJohn Slagel will give a tour of his livestock farm. Guests will see a variety of livestock and learn about the old fashioned production practices the Slagels use to produce their farm fresh meat products.

Following the Farm Tour a dinner will be served family style in a new barn next to the livestock pastures. The dinner will be prepared and served by Guest Chef Nicole Pederson of C-House and Chefs of One Sixty Blue.

Please BYOB; lemonade and water will be provided. We will have Slagel Family Farm products for you to purchase on the farm to take home with you! Bring a cooler to store your products in for the trip home.

Bus transportation will be provided to and from Chicago. The pickup location will be 1400 West Randolph St Chicago, IL 60607 @ 12:00 noon on October 8th.
