CPCT's Love Boat: an Improvised Musical
"Love Boat: The Improvised Musical" explores the genre of the popular TV show "The Love Boat" by recreating through improvisation the magic and splendor of being on the open sea on the Pacific Princess. Each show is an "episode" where we peer into the lives and relationships of couples who start out together, are ripped apart, and somehow end up together while presenting it within the context of traditional American musicals.
During the course of the musical, not only do we get to see our favorite Love Boat crew of the Captain, Isaac, Doc, Gopher, and Julie, we also get to see well known celebrities that graced the show such as Charro, The Harlem Globetrotters, and Erik Estrada along with new, more recent celebrities such as Justin Beiber, Barack Obama, and Oprah Winfrey. These characters will revolve around the love lives of those onboard. "Come aboard, we're expecting you..."
