20 Mile Meal 2011
Cultivating Community's 20 Mile Meal, the most mouth-watering and conscience-raising food event in Southern Maine, will take place on Sunday, October 2, 2011. The fifth annual 20 Mile Meal will once again bring together the top area chefs in a friendly challenge to create their most inventive and tasty dishes using only produce, fish, or meat grown, raised, or landed within 20 miles of the farm.
The $40.00 admission ($20 ages 7-11, free for children 6 and under) includes a tasting of the freshly-prepared foods, entertainment, and farm tours. Tickets will be available at the door for $45/$25. All proceeds benefit Cultivating Community, a local non-profit that operates youth and community development and education programs focused on sustainable agriculture and eliminating hunger.
Note: The 20 Mile Meal takes place rain or shine. Dress for changeable fall Maine weather. Children under 6 and under are free.
