ONE IN A MILLION: Anna is long-term single but believes she will meet her 'one in a million' some day. Her sister Karen, soon to be married, believes that you can't leave love to chance. What starts as an outing to buy a dress becomes a test of Anna's belief in the magic of love.

FINDING KALMAN: How will we tell the story of the Holocaust when the survivors are gone? A charismatic Holocaust survivor inspires her family to connect to relatives they could never meet. Focusing on her brother, Kalman, Anna recounts tales of a mischievous boy who tried to escape the Warsaw ghetto with her. Her daughter, an artist, devours the stories and paints his portrait over and over again. As Kalman's face emerges on canvas, the film travels back and forth in time from archival Warsaw ghetto footage to summers in a Catskills bungalow colony; from vibrant family life before World War II to now.   As the loving family that grew from two survivors creates art and music and celebrates together, the film shows how four generations find light even in the darkest of placeswith a resiliency that moves us to do the same.

APHASIA (Q&A only in this theater): A heartfelt true story of actor Carl McIntyre who, after suffering a massive stroke at age 44 and losing his ability to read, write, and talk, struggles against overwhelming odds to redefine his life. Carl McIntyre stars as himself and gives a compelling and nuanced performance in this life-affirming film which puts the audience in the seat of the stroke and provides an emotional and humorous ride as Carl navigates the waters of his new normal. Aphasia provides hope and inspiration not only to stroke survivors and their families, but to anyone who has struggled to meet life's daunting and ever-changing challenges.
