9000 Needles, an award-winning documentary by Doug Dearth
On Sunday, August 28, at 2pm, at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City, California, CATS (Community Asian Theatre of the Sierra), as part of their cultural enrichment series, presents the award-winning documentary, 9000 Needles, by Doug Dearth, who meticulously filmed the recovery process of his stroke-ridden brother, whose treatment consisted of both western and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Meet the filmmaker and the inspiration behind the film, as he documents a testament of hope, courage, and one family's unconventional journey towards stroke recovery. Learn about the centuries old practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbs from our speakers Drs. Gang Zhao Dong and Michelle Lau, both renowned Doctors of Oriental Medicine and Licensed Acupuncturists.
Discover the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, its history and philosophy, and the future it plays in modern day healing.
