The Green Scene
Green Theatre Collective is bringing The Green Scene to Shelter Island. An hour-long environmental theatre workshop for children in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. In this workshop students will participate in a scene with GTC actors, discuss and define what it means to be "green," do "green" theatre, and make green scenes of their own creation! Students will understand that a "green" lifestyle can make the earth a more beautiful and meaningful place, because a "green" imagination can create meaningful theatre without all the bells and whistles. If green or minimal theatre is a model for interesting and provocative art, then the same ideas can be applied to a green and holistic lifestyle. Why not stay for As You Like It at 5 p.m.?
