Action! Theatre Co. join forces to present
Shakespeare's OTHELLO
in a new adaptation by Tiger Reel
Artistic Directors August Viverito and T L Kolman announce their first alliance with Action! Theatre Co. to bring Tiger Reel's all-new adaptation of Shakespeare's OTHELLO to vivid life beginning July 15th at TheProdCo's home base, The Lex Theatre, 6760 Lexington Avenue, Hollywood, CA.
A sleek 90-minute multi-media adaptation of Shakespeare's classic in which 7 actors play all of the roles. Set in present-day Washington D.C. and Fort Cyprus, Florida, OTHELLO follows two "special ops" military specialists who, upon returning from covert operations, become embroiled in jealousy and mis-trust, and find that they cannot leave behind the violence and suspicion of the battlefield.
The cast includes standout performances from LA Drama Critics Circle-recognized 'Best Actor' Jim Hanna as Iago, the brilliant Victor Dickerson as Othello, and TheProdCo's 'Spring Awakening' star Abbie Cobb as Desdemona alongside a spectacular supporting cast in multiple role including Lacy Altwine, Joanna Hubbard, David Lombard, and Sean Spann. Adapted and directed by Tiger Reel, who also realized the multi-media elements of the production. Lighting is by Matt Richter, and fight direction by Mike Mahaffey.
